Bangalore's Traffic

Traffic is ubiquitous but in Bangalore it’s more than that. People residing here must have got, to what I’m referring to!! Hardly there goes a day when there is less traffic (less here means normal and normal means so-so) and when it, then there are talks, especially in the office say “You know today I reached in 20 min from my house, no traffic at all” and etc. Apart being one of the best working places in India leaving the awesome weather conditions, this city suffers from a disease called traffic. Government is trying to solve this but relief isn’t there. People here never expected that this city will rise to such a level and symmetrically they never thought about the TRAFFIC. Problem really lies in the roads, not wide enough to handle the incoming traffic, bad condition of roads add more to it. I must not miss out the nature’s attack i.e. RAIN. Every year people are moving here to work, indication of more vehicles subsequently leading to more TRAFFIC. So keeping in mind all these things and with my personal experience, just few quick tips on how to tackle Bangalore’s traffic.

  • Wake up early; heaviest, hardest, toilsome but best thing to do to avoid heavy traffic. Traffic in morning is the lightest and not many wake up early, so be the one and get the benefit. According to calculations, leave around 7:30 AM!!
  • Evening, leave around 8:30-9:00 PM, less encounter of traffic.
  • It’s really good to have a bike rather than a car; bike can squeeze between the open holes and can easily make way.
  • Try to get into short-cuts (not meant for life) ways.
  • In case if you already know about the damaged roads, skip them and take longer route because getting stuck on damaged roads is more worse.
  • Keep track of weather because Bangalore’s weather is uncertain. Bad weather, leave early (personally experienced leaving in Rain and suffering the aftermaths).
  • Already raining and in the office, better STAY there.

Different people have different ways of handling Bangalore’s traffic but above are the few standard ones which if strictly followed can really prove worth full.

Just hoping for day when traffic here in Bangalore becomes normal even in the peak hours!!
