Visit to MORE!!

Nowadays people are in much favor of going to food departmental stores like Food-World, MORE, Fab-Mall etc, reason being: freshness of goods, diversity in commodities, availability of new products, variety and convenience. I agree with all the points and they are damn true but past Sunday, had an incident in the MORE which I would like to share. Not a big one, but still it deserves some kind of attention!!

I didn’t go to MORE to buy many things, just a washing powder, but eventually landed in buying many things, which is usual with me. At the cashier counter, final bill was handed to me and I was just about to give the money and the same time just had a glimpse of the bill (specially the price of washing powder), also eyes went on the printed amount on the washing powder packet. Reason behind that I was just doing some stupid calculations on 200 gms and 500 gms (buying which, I’ll get cheaper deal!!) at that time when I took that packet. Quite lucky enough!! Result was “mismatch between the amount on the bill and washing powder packet”, although the difference was just of 3 rupees but then why to pay more than the prescribed amount. Just imagine same difference on 20 items, you will end up paying 60 rupees more, which is foolishness!!

In fact, exactly same thing happened with my friend, who accompanied me and standing just behind me (next turn was his). Later he told me, it’s normal in the MORE and it already happened with him more than 5 times.

If you see the slogan that MORE advertises “Our mission is to change the way people shop. We will give them more” (Aditya Birla Group). Very true friends!! Mission is slightly and slowly adding “We will take MORE from people” legally!!

So, just a note, always check the amount on the item and the bill, no harm in spending 5 minutes on it. Saying because I was never in the habit of this thing!!

Similar thing happened at food-world when they counted Rs. 2 more for a beer can.
Unlike @ MORE, where they instantly correct the amount, FOOD-WORLD cashier started arguing that the price is increased.
But ultimately they had to reduce Rs.2 in favor of the red hot customer.
